The Goddess

So many have questioned who is the Goddess? The Goddess is the mother of all and older than life for she is the giver of life and the bringer of death.
She walked this realm for centuries being celebrated and worshipped by all. Then over time the  elite in the countryside was slowly won over by religion. This was gradual for those who held true to our Goddess never left her side. Men of religion knew this was a hard battle to fight so they incorporated the days of celebration with the Goddess into their days and changed the name of them and this worked for a while. The Goddess was invited into this religions realm but this religion held a deep dark secret that only the men knew. For as soon as things balanced out they began their war on pushing the Goddess out and punishing the Witches. Did this stop the Witches, oh no, for they chose to retreat underground.
Now many may say retreating is cowardly but in fact it was a strong act by the Witches for they never lost their faith in their Goddess for they knew she remained until one day she would walk amongst this religion again only stronger, for man taught her and the Witches wisely. So in the shadows they stayed until the day was right to slowly emerge. There has always been witches amongst you walking right beside you, sharing your meal, always near.
Some today inquire how does one know the Goddess is here with you. The Witch just smiles and says oh she is here. For you see, when the wind blows, the owl in the tree hoots, the dogs begin barking or a large flock of birds appear, the Witch knows her Goddess is with her.
Some have said that man has pushed the Goddess from the cities and she is living in the country-side. The Witch knows she is still in the City but one must learn to listen carefully. So much sound and noise that one must tune out these sounds as the Witch walks she hears the crows, the dogs howling and listen so faintly yes that was an owl. This noise is hard to tune out for some and that is why a few thinks she was pushed outside the city.
As I type this, the dogs begin to perk up and walk toward the door and barking soon begins. My Goddess is here with me as I type this out letting me know she approves. I stop long enough to light her candle and speak to her, then turn back to close this off. For what she wanted said is written and the Witch will know.
